Icelandic Horses, highlands of Iceland and mountain huts. How does that sound? 

This tour is an exciting 7 day´s adventure to explore Iceland´s fantastic nature. There is 5 riding day´s in this tour and it´s is only for experienced riders.  We ride 4-6 hours each day in breathtaking landscape.

August 5–11 2020

Day 1: 

Pick up in Reykjavík Bus station BSÍ  at 17:00 and we drive to the house where we stay our first night in and get to know each other and introduction about next days. 

 

Day 2: 

Today we ride from a farm where the horses are through a beautiful  valley called Tungufell.  Then from there we ride to the Highlands to a hut called Svínárnes where we stay our second night.

Day 3: 

Today we ride from Svínárnes to Fosslækur on great riding paths made only by sheep and horses. The view is amazing and we stay in that mountain hut there our third night. There is a small waterfall just few minutes away from the hut.

Day 4: 

Today we will have relaxing day we will stay another night in this beautiful place. Then we will go for a ride only on one horse this day and enjoy the view and the relaxing atmosphere.

Day 5: 

Today we ride from Fosslækur to another hut called Helgaskáli, there we stay our 5 night. The nature and the highlands feeling is so great, it´s the true mountain feeling. This is our last night in the Highlands. 

 

Day 6: 

The last riding day , we ride from Helgaskáli to one of Iceland’s amazing canyons, Laxárgljúfur. From there we go to the farm Kaldbakur and there we say goodbye to our lovely horses and drive to the house where we spend our last night.

Day 7: 

Small sight-seen tour before we head back to Reykjavík where we say goodbye because all good things must come to an end. ​

Guide: English speaking.

Included: 

• Pick up and drop off in Reykjavík.

• All accommodation

• During the ride full board is provided. Our menu consists of a large breakfast and traditional Icelandic meals.  Vegetarian meals are available if requested when booking. All riders make their own packed lunch from the breakfast table.

• Rain gear,  saddle bag and riding helmet

• Alcoholic beverages are not included in the tour price.
